My name is Reem Alreesh from Kuwait, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Langdon. My research focuses on identifying genotypes of "Pseudodiploria clivosa" and "Pseudodiploria strigosa" that exhibit reduced sensitivity to ocean acidification (OA). By evaluating their growth, photosynthesis, and respiration under both normal and reduced pH levels, I aim to determine whether the fastest-growing corals are more resilient to OA. This work is designed to support effective coral reef restoration by identifying corals capable of thriving in increasingly acidic conditions. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami, where I double-majored in Marine Science and Biology.
